Workshop:  Strong Families Need Strong Foundations:  An Introduction to the Strengthening Families™ Protective Factors Framework

Parenting is a relentless business.  It's not just important, it's crucial that parents have all the tools and resources to make their families strong.  The Strengthening Families™ Protective Factors Framework does just that – helps build on the strengths of families while working to reduce the long-term impact of toxic and traumatic stress.   This workshop provides an in-depth look at the Strengthening Families™ Protective Factors Framework and explores how professionals can work with families to strengthen the Five Protective Factors:  Parental Resilience, Social Connections, Concrete Support in Times of Need, Knowledge of Parenting and Child Development and Social Emotional Competence of Children.

Workshop:  What Were You THINKING?!  Understanding the Command and Control Center of Your Child’s Brain

Sometimes it seems our kids are from another planet.  We can’t quite grasp WHY?  Why do they do the things that they do?  More importantly, parents want to know what they can do to help their children become strong, successful, happy and healthy adults.  This workshop helps connect the dots between children’s developing brains and their behavior.  Additionally, participant will learn tools and techniques to help develop executive function skills in children as well as themselves.
